 Released in 2011 by the US network HBO, Game of Thrones is a fantasy-genre tv show created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of the literary saga "A Song of Ice and Fire" by the American writer George R. R. Martin. The story places us in the seven kingdoms that make up Westeros, where various noble families fight for the so coveted Iron Throne.

The tv show has been recorded, in locations in Ireland, Northern Ireland Scotland, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Spain and Croatia. It has become the most watched tv show in history. More than 60 million dollars were invested in the first season and It reached more than 100 million budget for the seventh season. The HBO show also has four confirmed future spin-offs that will explore the vast universe of "A Song of Ice and Fire."

The tv show is set in the fantastic continents of Westeros and Essos in some parallel world to ours or even as some fan theories say, such events could be happening on another planet. The first season of the tv show was released on April 17th 2011 in the United States. Each season consists of 10 chapters except the seventh season that only had 7 and a new season has been released every year since the launch of the first, the eighth season being the exception since it will be more than a year and a half apart with the seventh season in 2019.

It has received more than 200 awards and nominations since its launch in 2011. The story is shocking and immersive, the characters are endearing and have problems typical of the Dark Ages but that also apply in many cases to today. It is definitely the most impressive Series of all time.
